Based in Mountain View, Schola Cantorum is an audition-based, 135-member chorus that offers live performances throughout the year at different locations in the Bay Area. The current music director is Gregory Wait. Check the website for upcoming events.
Gene Pino, a professional jazz and classical guitarist who has studied at the Berklee School of Music, has been providing lessons to aspiring guitarists in his home studio since 1992. In addition to jazz and classical guitar, he teaches electric and acoustic guitar, and electric bass. His home studio has a large song library and is equipped with digital recording equipment. Students are taught music notation, technique, chords, picking, scales and music theory and progress at their own pace.
Bill Pollack, a booking agent for musicians, has been in business in Evanston for over 25 years. Corporations depend on him to hire musicians for weddings, galas and other important events. Pollack and his children, local residents, are actively involved in the Evanston community.
